My Lens Camera

It was around 1994, one of my cousins were going away for the weekend and he asked me if he could use my lens camera.  My camera was Nikon N4004S lens camera, I also had a 70-120 zoom lens as well.  My Nikon was my prize and position and loved taking pictures and using it.  He asked if I could loan out my camera.  I felt very funny about loaning out the camera and I didn't really want to loan it out.  My thoughts of it was that it would be dropped accidently or somewhat damaged by the time he returned from his weekend.  I had a talk with my aunt (his mother) and she pointed out that it was the weekend and nothing was going to happen to it.  He even promised that nothing was going to happen to it.  And that's what happened and just as I suspected.  I knew my instincts were correct.  He told me the strap broke and the back of the lid to put the film in was a bit damaged but not bad that it wouldn't close.  of course I was extremely disappointed of his careless.  The damaged has been done so why bother arguing.  I knew that it would fall into another arguement about the arguement.

Thinking back on the time I was taking my camera everywhere, I was going over to my uncle's house on the Waterside.  I had my camera with me to take pictures.  I took a quick stop at the Richmond Center to go to the bathroom and into one of the cubicles.  As I was going to the bathroom I heard boys laughing.  They ended up throwing water over the door which got me wet.  I know they were kids playing around but it did piss me off a bit.  I wasn't going to chase them down.  It would be a waste of energy. I just continued my journey to my uncle's house.
